CSE faculty member, Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department, BRAC University attended a reputed international symposium “SPIE Defense and Commercial Sensing 2019” jointly organized by SPIE and US Defense Laboratories (Arm, Air force and Navy) held in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on 14 -18 April 2019.
Dr. Alam delivered his invited talk on “Early detection of coronary artery blockage using image processing: segmentation, quantification, identification of degree of blockage and risk factors of heart attack” at the session of “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Imaging and Sensing” within the Symposium. It was invited by Dr. Christopher C. Wilcox, US Air Force Research Laboratory (Session Chair of Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Imaging and sensing session).
Besides attending the symposium, Dr. Alam had a meeting with Prof. Bahram Javidi, a Distinguish Professor (Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering) and Trusty Board Member of University of Connecticut, USA about possible research collaboration between BRAC University and University of Connecticut.
