The Computer Vision and Intelligent Systems (CVIS) Research Lab of CSE department organized a workshop series titled as “CVIS WORKSHOP SERIES: Summer 2018.” There were 15 workshops (3 connected workshops for each topic) conducted on 5 different topics such as 1) 3D Vision and Image Processing, 2) AI, Machine Learning and Machine Vision, 3) VR, AR and Computer Game Development, 4) Computer Graphics and GUI Development, and 5) Firmware Development. The program started from 8 July, 2018 with an opening speech of Prof. Dr. Abdul Mottalib, the Chairperson of CSE department and ended by 24 July, 2018.
The workshops were conducted by professors, researchers and industry experts from different universities and industries such as BRAC University (Dr. Mahbubul Alam Majumder2, Professor; Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam1,3,4, Asst. Professor; Dr. Golam Rabiul Alam4, Asst. Professor and Sharowar Mohammad Shariar2, Lecturer), University of California Riverside (Tonmoy Kumar Bhowmik2, PhD Researcher and Ishmam Jabir1, PhD Researcher), Chungbuk National University (Md. Shahinur Alam1, PhD Researcher), University of Sydney (Shayikh Nadim Hossain3, PhD Researcher), Jahangirnagar University (Dr. Md. Zahidur Rahman2, Professor), Signal Stream Inc., Canada (Syed Imtiaz Ahmed5, Co-founder & President and Dr. Ray Barton5, Co-founder), ALIENIDE Interactive (Risul Karim3, Technical Advisor) and Battery Low Interactive (Minhaz-Us-Salakeen Fahme3, CEO).
Around 300 attendees participated in the workshop series, i.e., on an average 60 participants in each topic. The workshop series attracted a great attention of students, researchers and faculty members of our university. Moreover, some students from other public and private universities had attended the workshop series
