Bangladesh’s development is at a critical juncture poised to take off, so educational institutions need to collaborate for preparedness, which includes enhancing the quality of human resources, said Brac University (BracU) President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang.
“We (BracU) have repositioned ourselves...to be Bangladesh’s international university,” he told a delegation of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) on Tuesday, 12 October 2019.
“...we are upgrading our standards...to bring Bangladesh’s higher education to be more visible to the world and we are taking the lead,” added Professor Chang.
The DSCSC delegation had come over to BracU for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two educational institutions to collaborate in promoting research, developing programmes and arranging seminars and academic exchanges on mutually relevant fields.
BracU Treasurer SN Kairy and DSCSC Chief Instructor Brigadier General SM Kamrul Hassan signed the documents on behalf of the respective institutions.
DSCSC Commandant Major General Md Enayet Ullah thanked the BracU authorities for facilitating the engagement, which would help gain a better understanding of issues including cyber security concerns and non-traditional threats.
Both sides agreed to explore possibilities in publications, drone technology and e-libraries and share best practices through formulation of modalities.
Later souvenirs were exchanged marking the occasion.
