A group of students from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of BRAC University visited Reverie Power & Automation Engineering Ltd. on 10 November 2018 as a part of their field experience visit for their theory course: EEE221 – Energy Conversion I. The visitors were welcomed by the Deputy Manager, Mr. Minhaj Morshed. In this industrial tour, students were accompanied by Dr. Saifur Rahman Sabuj, Asst. Professor, Marzia Alam, Senior Lecturer, Asif Uddin Khan, Lecturer and Mohaimenul Islam, Teaching assistant. During the visit, students were briefed of the various sections of the Reverie Power & Automation Engineering Ltd, which include the core cutting section, winding section, oil tank building section, vacuum chamber, testing instrument section, paint section etc. Students also visited the switchgear section. In switchgear section, students were demonstrated with different HV and LV type’s panels function, set up process, testing facilities etc. Students were divided into two groups during the factory visit. Apart from the demonstration, a technical lecture session was also organized for the students on the overall working procedure and the company profile of this industry. Finally, a question and answer session provided good insight into the working process, protocols and machines of this important factory of the country. It was a significant opportunity for the students of EEE to gain practical experiences by visiting one of the largest transformers manufacturing factory in Bangladesh and acquire knowledge about the practical applications of their classroom-based study.
