The Microbiology Program of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences , with the support of University Grants Commission (UGC) and World Bank Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), and the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of BRAC University, recently successfully completed the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) as well as the External Peer Review (EPR) to physically validate the report. External Peer Reviewers checked all the documents related to examination procedure, admission processing, result publication, teacher and student assessment etc. They also visited classes to know how the classes are being conducted and also interviewed the students. Feedbacks from Microbiology Program stakeholders (alumni, students, employers, academics and no-academics) and their analysis, followed up with assessment of the SAR by external review team and their follow-up meetings, held during May 6 to 8, with Microbiology faculty members and BRAC University administration members including Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Chairperson of the MNS Department, Controller of Examinations, Registrar and Finance Director. A three-member Microbiology faculty member team - comprised of Dr. M. Mahboob Hossain, Professor; Mr. Mahbubul Hasan Siddique, Lecturer; and Ms. Fahareen Binte Mosharraf, Senior Lecturer - prepared the SAR.
EPR team was comprised of Professor Nazrul Islam as QA Expert (Head Business Administration, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology), Dr. Shahidul Kanbir, as QA Expert (Professor, Department of Microbiology, Stamform University, Dhaka, Bangladesh) and head; Dr. Choudhury Rafiqul Ahasan as subject expert (Professor, Department of Microbiology, University of Dhaka)
