Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), Brac University conducted a day-long capacity building workshop on climate change for the officials of KPMG, a leading audit firm on April 30, 2019. At the beginning of the workshop Dr. Ainun Nishat, Adviser C3ER gave a brief introduction of climate change science. Later, he described the impacts of climate change in different sectors and the adaptation and mitigation strategies to overcome those issues. He also talked about different global initiatives and climate funds to solve the issues related to climate change. In the second part of the workshop Mr. A. S. M. Marjan Nur and Ms. Roufa Khanum showed the process of accessing Green Climate Fund (GCF) and explained different steps of preparing funding proposals. C3ER, Brac University will work with KPMG as a strategic partner in future for accessing climate funds and for this purpose a MoU was signed between C3ER and KPMG to access fund from Green Climate Fund (GCF).
