Jeffrey Cook, Regents Professor of Architecture, School of Architecture and Environmental Design is an internationally renowned researcher, writer and proponent of bio-climatic design, particularly passive solar and low-energy cooling and heating. He has written a number of books on the subject and also other subjects including ones on the Architects Paolo Soleri (in press) and Bruce Goff. He is the founder editor-in-chief of Passive Solar Journal ASES. He is Professor, International Academy of Architecture, Life Fellow American Solar Energy Society, Honorary Fellow of RIBA and was the first President of PLEA (Passive and Low Energy Architecture), to mention a few of his achievements. Professor Cook has written 12 Books and approximately 350 scholarly papers. Professor Cook graduated in Architecture from the University of Manitoba in 1957 and did a masters degree from Pratt Institute in 1961. Professor Cook will be at BU from December 17, 2002 to January 1, 2003. During his stay he will conduct a workshop and visit some prominent architectural structures in Dhaka and Mymensingh.
