Maisha Mosharrat Chowdhury, MS student in biotechnology program presented her thesis on 26 Oct 2017. Title of her research was Effect of Passive Immunization with Mouse Anti-BCG 64 kDa Protein on Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma Cells. The work was jointly supervised by Prof. C. R. Ahsan, Professor, Microbiology Department, University of Dhaka and Prof. Naiyyum Choudhury, Chairman, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority. The work was carried out both at Microbiology department and MNS lab at BRAC University. The viva examination board was chaired by Prof. Prof. A F M Yusuf Haider, chairperson MNS Dept and attended by Prof. Mahboob Hossain, microbiology program, MNS dept. as external and Professor Aparna Islam, Coordinator, MS in Biotechnology Program. The board expressed satisfaction on the work accomplished in this research project.

Thesis Presentations of UG Biotechnology students
Four students, A.B.M. Rezwanul Kabir, Fuad Mustafa, D.M Ashiquzzaman and Marium Momin performed their thesis presentation required under BTE 450 (Research Project, Thesis) course on Thursday, 26 October 2017 in Room UB 21511 of the MNS Department. The title of their thesis were “A study on the prospect of E. coli isolated from raw beef samples as a potential reservoir of antibiotic resistance”, “Study on the antibacterial activity of liquid hand-wash containing triclosan against pathogenic bacteria isolated from clinical samples”, “Antimicrobial activities of Terminalia chebula, Terminalia arjuna and Swertiachirayita against multidrug resistant Pseudmonas aeruginosa and comparison of their activities with locally available antibiotic” and “Screening of Lactic Acid Bacteria with Antimicrobial Property Isolated from Fermented Foods” respectively. A.B.M. Rezwanul Kabir was jointly supervised by Ms. Shamira Tabrejee and Ms. Zubaida Marufee Islam (on leave), Fuad Mustafa was jointly supervised by Ms. Nazneen Jahan and Ms. Trosporsha Tasnim Khan, D.M Ashiquzzaman and Marium Momin were both supervised by Dr. Mahboob Hossain.
