BRAC University (BRACU) Ayesha Abed Library organised a three-day training on “Open Source Software Dspace” for librarians and IT professionals of the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) from 22 April 2018 at the BRACU’s Mohakhali campus.
Funded by Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project of the University Grants Commission, the training was specially designed for the DSpace implementation team of KUET with an objective of providing technical and practical knowledge for enhancing library services.
The training was conducted by BRAC University Library Team followed by a practical session in which participants got hands on training on DSpace and Metadata.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Ansar Ahmed PhD presented certificates among the participants at the closing ceremony. He said support services such as that of libraries are as much important as other services.
Professor Ahmed praised Ayesha Abed Library, comparing it with the top libraries in the USA. He urged all to share knowledge for the betterment of society.
Thanking BRACU for the arrangement and support, Md Akkas Uddin Pathan, the librarian of KUET, said the training would help provide better professional services and enrich the library at the KUET.
