The Human Resources Department of BRAC University organized a two-day long training program on ‘Building the Transactional Leader’ at BRAC-CDM, Savar on 6th and 7th May 2016 for the Non-Academic Staff. A total of 33 participants from different administrative departments attended the training program. The purpose of the training was to develop cross-functional orientation among the employees, guide them in learning goal setting process and a better awareness of self, through learning one’s own biases, strengths and areas of improvements and also orient them towards the leadership vision of the University.
The first day of the training started with a Rapport Building Exercise, facilitated by Ms. Homayara Latifa Ahmed, Consultant, HRD and Ms. Shadia Alam, Sr. Manager, HRD. This session was so participative and basically an ice breaking session which helped the participants knowing each at a greater level. In the second half of the day Ms. Deneb Zeenat Latif, Country Head-Talent Acquisition, HR, Standard Chartered Bank conducted group based Team Building Exercise followed by a Cross-Functional Orientation session and stakeholder identification.
The first session of the second day was conducted by Mr. Naim Uz Zaman, Head of Leadership People Development, General Manager, Grameen Phone. In this interactive session, Mr. Naim instructed the Goal Setting Process & Value Creation of one’s job. In the second half Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, VC, BRAC University discussed the Leadership Vision, Integrative Change and the Transformation Process of BRAC University. At the end, Ms. Homayara Latifa Ahmed, Consultant, HRD facilitated the Personal & Professional Mastery where she discussed about our perceptual biases, value-based behavioral commitments and self concept through Johari Window.
Mr. Monojit Kumar Ojha, Director Finance was present in the two day long training session and shared his valuable comments and thoughts with the participants. Mr. Sukhendra Kumar Sarkar, Treasurer, BRAC University visited on the second day and shared his solicitous insights. Mr. Muhammad Sahool Afzal, Registrar, BRAC University also visited on the first day of the training program to encourage the participants.
After successful completion of the two-day long training program, a certificate giving ceremony was held on 18 May 2016. Mr. Sukhendra Kumar Sarkar, Treasurer, BRAC University headed the program and handed over certificates to the participants.
