Brac University Vice Chancellor Prof. Vincent Chang, held his first Town Hall meeting with 28 designated undergraduate students from different departments on 25th February, 2019, at 3:30 PM, at the Conference room of UB 01. Ms. Ismat Shereen, Head, Relationship Management Office (RMO) was also present in the meeting.
Prof. Chang started the discussion by a brief introduction about himself. He shared his vision about Brac University to be one of the internationally recognized universities. The salient part of his discussion was the augmentation of the ‘Student Life’. He ensured to provide the students a unique Brac University experience where the students would study, play, network, discuss job opportunities and take part in a huge variety of activities. He also emphasized on the active involvement of every members of the university to make the vision achievable.
Then he opened the floor to students to share their views about their departments and expectations from the university. Students discussed many issues such as participation in International competition relevant with co-curricular activities, seminars, research etc. They also shared their concern regarding the new campus building.
At the end, students shared a few unique features of the University and thanked the Vice Chancellor for having such meeting with them, as these would help create opportunities to further improvement of student life. Prof. Chang was greatly impressed with the students, describing them as being engaged, enthusiastic and full of great ideas and thanked everybody for their active participation and assured them that all the issues will be discussed with the concerned authorities to take positive appropriate actions to improve student life in the campus. The Vice Chancellor announced that he will hold his next Town Hall meeting with the entire student body very shortly.
