Brac University (BracU) welcomed the arrival of spring celebrating Pahela Falgun, the first day of spring in the Bangla calendar, with children with special needs on its Mohakhali campus auditorium, Prangan and Indoor Games Room on Wednesday, 13 February 2019.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Mohammad Tamim inaugurated the daylong programme of “Basant Uthsav 1425”, organised by Brac University Film Club and overseen by the Office of Co-Curricular Activities, while Registrar Lt Col Md Foyzul Islam (Retd) was present.
With every venue decorated with yellow and orange flowers and colorful festoons, the event started with a dance by students of “Beautiful Mind”, a centre for children with special needs. They took part in painting and an exhibition as well. The event included a cultural performance by BracU students.
A fair was arranged in the Indoor Games Room where glass bangles, books, T-shirts, clay pots and jewellries and other accessories were put up for sale.
In the afternoon, artists of movie “Fagun Haway - In spring Breeze”, including Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Siam Ahmed and the director, Tauquir Ahmed, took part in an interactive session with students.
