Counseling Unit of Brac University (BracU) hosted a seminar on “Parenting” on Saturday, 9 March 2019 at the auditorium of it’s Mohakhali campus from 01:30 pm to 05:00 pm.
Based on the theme “Parent-Child Relationship in the Changing World”, the event started by welcoming the students with their parents.
This seminer aimed to explore the changing pattern of parent-child relationship on the age of challenging modern era, and also how to maintain this unique bond based on mutual respect, empathetic understanding and positive discipline.
Professor Mehtab Khanam, Advisor of the Counseling Unit, Brac University played the role of key speaker at the seminar.
Develop process of human personality starts with the brain development as a human being. So parents should avaoid portrating negative attitudes in front of a child from his childhood as it lefts a huge impact on their personality, said Dr. Khanam, also Professor of the Department Of Educational And Counselling Psychology, University of Dhaka.
Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed, Director of the Brac Institute of Languages, spoked at the seminer as special guest.
Both parents and students took part in interactive sessions with the counselors.
