Fifteen students attending the Residential Semester (RS) at Savar this Fall 2019 took the initiative to teach local underprivileged students. This initiative is named Residential Semester’s Outreach Program.
Through this program, underprivileged school children living in that area were tutored in English, Mathematics, and Computing. These kids had little access to quality education. This is an initiative to help them improve their understanding on those subjects.
The session runs from Sunday to Wednesday, from 5.00pm to 6.00pm. Children attending the program seemed enthusiastic as study materials were incorporated with games, puzzles, and other amusement.
The RS students also visit local old homes and take care of the people living there on a regular basis. Apart from study, such initiative motivates RS students to engage in voluntary activities. The Residential Semester’s Outreach Program added another good example to students’ voluntary activities.
