The Moot Court Team of the School of Law, Brac University have earned the runners-up title in the 5th Bangladesh National Round of the 62nd Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2021 which was held virtually between 11 and 13 February 2021.
The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the largest, most prestigious, and one of the oldest moot court competitions in the world with participation from around 800 universities from over 100 countries. The Bangladesh National Round was organized by Jessup Bangladesh in association with International Law Students Association (ILSA); United States’ Department of Justice; and East West University. It is also one of the largest national rounds in the world.
The School of Law team comprised of Mr. Md. Mosabbir Hossain, Mr. Rakibul Islam Bhuiyan, and Ms. Humaira Anjum, and they were advised and coached by Mr. Farhaan Ahmed of the School of Law. The team is now preparing for the Global Rounds of the competition, which will be held virtually between 9 March and 18 April 2021, where they will compete against teams from across the world spanning multiple time zones and continents.
Moot court plays a key role in the academic and professional development and successes of the students of the School of Law. Through the years, the School of Law has earned a formidable reputation in the mooting and legal community on the heels of the numerous successes of its current and former mooters.
