The Department of Economics and Social Sciences, Brac University has recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Kent University, UK to co-deliver the MSc in Development Economics program. Professor Georgina Randsley de Moura, Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic Strategy, Planning and Performance, Kent University, Dr. Dave Dowland, Registrar, Brac University, and Farzana Munshi, Professor and Chair (Interim), Department of Economics and Social Sciences, Brac University, signed the MOA representing their respective organizations.
This agreement, effective from Fall '21, encourages two way exchange of the students. The students who opt for the co-delivery arrangement will spend the first stage of the program at Kent (terms 1 and 2). Upon successful completion of Stage 1 (125 credits), students proceed to stage 2, when they will write their dissertation at Brac University over the Summer term (55 credits). The dissertation will be jointly supervised by academic staff members from Kent and the Department of Economics and Social Sciences, Brac University (one supervisor from each institution).
Students who opt for the co-delivery arrangement are eligible for university and school level scholarships offered by Kent University. Economics graduates from Brac University will receive an additional 10% discount on their tuition fees.
