BRAC University hosted a meeting between Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang and the heads of some renowned schools and colleges on 25 November, 2021. This second edition of “Appreciation Gathering” focused on English medium schools alongside British Council. BRAC University shared its goals and recent developments during the meet.
Principals and representatives from Academia, British Council, Maple Leaf International School, Sunnydale, SFX Greenherald International School and College, Scholastica, Oxford International School, DPS STS School Dhaka, Aga Khan School, Sir John Wilson School and International School Dhaka attended. From BRAC University, Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang, Dr. David Dowland, Registrar, Professor Fuad H. Mallick, Dean, School of Architecture and Design, Mr. Sharfuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Director of Communications, Ismat Shereen, Head of RMO, Md. Shamim Ahmed, Deputy Registrar and other high officials were present.
Dr David Dowland shared an overview of the university through a presentation. He covered several important features and activities of the university, including the new mission and vision, student experience, scholarships, internationalization and alumni outcomes. Professor Fuad H. Mallick introduced the university’s new permanent campus which is under construction at Merul Badda.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang expressed his gratitude to the guests for attending this meeting. Professor Chang shared his willingness to develop a strong relationship with the institutions to help better shape education for the students. “BRAC University is a student centric university, where we work on finding ways to create a better person,” said Professor Chang. We want to educate good talents and ensure opportunities for them, he added.
The guests very much appreciated the event and thanked BRAC University for the invitation. They also invited the BRAC University authority to visit their institutions in the future. "We are very keen to visit your institutions and meet the students, teachers and parents and exchange views on higher education," said Professor Chang in response.
