As a part of the observance of the World Mental Health Day 2021, the Counseling Unit of Brac University has organized a workshop for the international students' titled ‘Stress Management’ on November 13, 2021, at the Residential Campus of Brac University. The workshop was conducted to create awareness about self and the theoretical and practical manifestation of stress. In addition, the primary goal was to make the students understand healthy and functional living to enhance productivity.
Renowned Psychologist Professor Mehtab Khanam, Adviser of the Counseling Unit, Brac University, has conducted the session with twenty-six international students about the significance of mental health care. Ms. Safina Binte Enayet and Ms. Anne Anthonia Baroi co-facilitated the session with Dr. Mehtab Khanam by discussing the concept and engaging students with activities to understand their own experiences. The effects of stress, management techniques, and some tips to deal with stress were discussed. In addition, how appreciating self and others can help to manage stress was emphasized in the session. In the end, Ms. Kazi Rumana Haque facilitated the yoga and breathing session for the students. Throughout the session, students were actively involved in activities to understand the stress.
The concluding part took place by giving and receiving thanks and warm wishes from the students.
