Farhin Ahmed, an undergrad student of the English and Humanities Department, has been awarded one of the 2022 Student-Led Initiative Grants from the Open Society University Network (OSUN) Center for Human Rights and the Arts. This grant award for $1000 USD is specifically assigned for his project titled "Project Inside".
Farhin - a long-time social entrepreneur and an alumnus of UN Millennium Fellowship Class of 2021 - has developed Project Inside as an inclusive mental health platform which interconnects advanced therapeutic techniques, social awareness campaigning and cutting-edge immersive technology to develop and provide groundbreaking mental health services to the most vulnerable individuals. Furthermore, the initiative would develop a video-based database consisting of short documentaries to feature and share the stories of vulnerable individuals who struggled with mental health defects, and their recommendations on overcoming it.
The Student-Led Initiative Grants program was designed for students across the Open Society University Network within the framework of the OSUN Center for Human Rights and the Arts (CHRA). The goal of this grant program is to support student leaders who seek to create or extend projects in human rights and social justice, particularly those with an artistic dimension, that are based in the institution or the community (or beyond).
