BRAC University hosted an appreciation gathering event with the principals of some of the top colleges of Dhaka on 19 April 2022. Principals and representatives from Notre Dame College, Adamjee Cantonment College, Dhaka Imperial College, Milestone College, Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt. Anwar Girls' College, BAF Shaheen College, Dhaka Residential Model College, Rajuk Uttara Model College attended the event. The event was followed by an iftar at the university auditorium.
From BRAC University, Professor Vincent Chang, Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Dowland, Registrar, Professor Arshad M. Chowdhury, Dean, School of Engineering, Professor Sang Lee, Dean, BRAC Business School, Dr Mesbah Talukder, Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, Mr. Sharfuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Director of Communications, Tahsina Rahman, Joint Director, Student Life, Mohammad Shamim Azad, Deputy Registrar and Deepti Sarkar, Senior Manager, Outreach were present in the event.
Dr David Dowland delivered the welcome address in the event. He shared an overview of the university through a presentation.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang expressed his gratitude to the guests for attending the event. Professor Chang shared the goals and recent developments of BRAC University. He also expressed his profound interest to develop a strong relationship with the colleges to help better shape education for the students. We take care of the students, students will take care of the institutions, he said.
Professor Arshad M. Chowdhury emphasized on co-operative initiatives by the colleges and higher education institutions that can tackle brain-drain. He also covered several important features and activities of the University and shared the activities of School of Engineering.
Professor Sang Lee also shared some recent activities and development of BRAC Business School. He mentioned two recent agreements signing of BRAC University with Texas A&M University-Commerce (TAMUC) and University of Lincoln. According to Professor Lee, these agreements are great opportunities for the BRAC university students to better shape their future.
The principals appreciated BRACU for inviting them and holding this valuable discussion and engagement and also invited BRAC University authority to visit their respective institutions.
