Stress is an integral part of human life. Since the pandemic, many changes have happened in life, and some of the changes were so uncertain for some of us. Besides that, after a pandemic, when weare trying to get back to our regular life, it also needs adjustment, which might become stressful.
This stress sometimes has impacts that create storms in the way of functional life. Henceforth, the Counseling Unit of BRAC University (BRACU) arranged a workshop on Stress Management with the topic of "Minimize your Stress and Maximize your Potentiality" both at Mohakhali and Residential Campus on Wednesday, 30 March, and Thursday, 03 April 2022. In the Mohakhali and Residential Campus, the session was divided into two groups, and in total, 49 students joined the session at the Mohakhali campus and 47 Participants at Residential Campus.
This session discussed how an individual could explore and enhance her potential, strengths, and resources to deal with stress and cope with the present. In addition, the primary goal was to make the students understand healthy and functional living to enhance productivity.
Counselors facilitated the session by discussing the concept and engaging students with activities to understand their own experiences. The sources and effects of stress, management techniques, and some tips to deal with stress were also discussed. The group activities helped them learn about others' coping methods. Ms Ayesha Seddiqa, Ms. Anne Anthonia Baroi, Mr. Zayed Bin Farid & Ms. Ayesha Islam facilitated the session.
The concluding part took place by giving and receiving thanks and warm wishes from the Students. Students' contentment was expressed through their enthusiastic participation throughout the whole workshop. They also expressed their need to do such workshops more often throughout their university life and also suggested conducting workshops on other psychosocial issues as well.
