Umma Maimuna Alam, a seventh-semester student of the Department of English and Humanities, has been selected as the Content Editor for the OSUN Global Commons Editorial Team. Among the international team consisting of students from Ashesi University and Bard College, she is the only student selected from BRAC University, Bangladesh. After her training with the international panel, she is working with a team on the publishing process of the Global Commons, which is a new online literary and news publication that gives voice to student-generated work on issues related to Sustainability and Climate, Inequalities, Human Rights, Global Justice, Global Public Health, Arts and Society, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. It is a program generated by OSUN's Student Life Initiatives Project.
The editing team is responsible for all aspects of the publication, from submission solicitation and review; to design and dissemination of the final product. Global Commons is created and developed by college and university students from the Open Society University Network and will publish twice a year. The first issue of Global Commons is going to be released in the first half of May 2022.
