Student Life of BRAC University and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Foundation Bangladesh jointly organized an Awards Leader’s Training on its campus auditorium on 23 May, 2022 as a part of incorporating the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award program.
Mr. Moinak Kanungo, Lecturer, MBA Program of ULAB, conducted the training while Mr. Khalid Shahrior and Mr. Rejwanul Kabir of DEA Foundation Bangladesh supported the sessions. Ms. Tahsina Rahman, Joint Director, Student Life, BRAC University, delivered the welcome address and Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq, Member of DEA Foundation Bangladesh Trustee Board, presented the closing remarks at the training.
A total of 30 faculty members and administrative staff received training on how to guide students in achieving their goals through this program. The Award Leaders will be responsible for encouraging groups of students to pursue their choice of activity, inspire their progress, approve their activities and validate completion of their Award.
The global non-formal education framework challenges young people (aged 14 - 24) to discover their potential and find their purpose, passion and place in the world. It is a compact self-development program where individuals learn new skills, increase fitness levels through physical recreational activities, volunteer in community services and take part in an adventurous journey.
