The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Güner UREYA, came on a visit to the Residential Campus of BRAC University in Savar on 13 June, 2022. Mr Sadik Faisal, Campus Superintendent, and his team welcomed the ambassador. Dr. Dave Dowland, Registrar, delivered the welcome speech.
Ambassador Güner UREYA gave a presentation on “Kosovo Bangladesh relations: Thinking from the periphery and lessons for development, culture, and nation-building”. He informed students of the relationship between Kosovo and Bangladesh and of their struggle for national independence. The ambassador looked forward to opportunities for academic collaboration between universities in Kosovo and BRAC University.
Dr. Sharon Hart, a Fulbright Specialist based at BRAC University and former President of the Rochester Institute of Technology in Kosovo, reflected on the connections between the US and Kosovo and highlighted the draws for Bangladeshi students to visit Kosovo for study and cultural exchange.
The visit ended with Ambassador Güner UREYA and Dr. Sharon Hart, accompanied by Dr Dave Dowland and Ms. Ismat Shereen, Head of the International and Scholarship Office, going round the residential campus before having lunch with a group of local and international students.
