Department of Architecture Brac University is excited to invite you to the design thinking workshop, "Exploring New Contextualism: An Approach to Architecture and Urban Design." This workshop aims to delve into the philosophy of New Contextualism and explore its significance in the realm of architecture and urban design. Join us for an enriching experience that explores a new framework of design for addressing the challenges and opportunities of the contemporary built environment.

Workshop Highlights:
This workshop will offer hands-on exercises to explore the need for New Contextualism, and cover the following topics:
- Introduction to New Contextualism and its principles
- Understanding the context and its influence on design decisions
- Case studies of successful New Contextual projects: in studios and beyond
- The New Contextual approach in global practice
- Possibilities and challenges of the New Contextual approach
- Discussion on the potential and limitations of New Contextualism in the current architectural and urban design context
Facilitators:
- Mohammad Habib Reza, Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture, Brac University, will lead the workshop. He coined the concept of New Contextualism and has been propagating it for the last decade.

Additionally, we will have eight Department of Architecture, Brac University alumni who will serve as mentors for the hands-on exercises.
