Postgraduate Diploma in Disaster Management (PGDDM)

Program Overview

The Postgraduate Diploma in Disaster Management (PGDDM) is a 36-credit Master's Degree program, which includes a 6-credit dissertation. Designed for full-time students, the program can be completed in four consecutive semesters.

Class Schedule: All classes are held in the evening from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Friday through Tuesday.

Admission Test

All eligible applicants, unless exempted, must take a written admission test. Those who qualify for the written test will be called for an interview as part of the final selection process.

Exemption from the Written Test

• BRACU graduates with a CGPA of 3.0 or above.
• Applicants with GRE/GMAT scores as specified below:
  • Old GRE score of 450 (verbal), 550 (analytical), and 650 (quantitative).
  • Revised GRE score of 300 total for combined verbal and quantitative scores.
  • GMAT total combined score of 560.
  GRE/GMAT scores are valid for 5 years from the test date.

Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Development (PGDECD)

Program Overview

The Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Development (PGDECD) is a professional development program aimed at enhancing the skills of ECD professionals from GO/NGOs, educators, health professionals, school teachers, and recent graduates. The program consists of 9 courses (27 credits) to complete the PGDECD. Students can further pursue an MSc in ECD with an additional 9-credit dissertation, totaling 36 credits.

Program Duration: 16 months to complete the PGD, 20 months for the MSc.

Required Minimum GPA/Grade

• SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent: Minimum GPA 2.5 or 2nd Class/Division in each level separately.
• O-level with five subjects and A-level with two subjects: Scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1 [Only one E is acceptable], with a minimum GPA of 2.5 in each level separately.
• Bachelor's Degree: A minimum of 15 years of education from any government-authorized university, with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent 2nd Class/Division.

Admission Test

All eligible applicants, except BRACU graduates with a CGPA of 3.0 or above, are required to take a written admission test. The test has two parts: a 1-hour written test and a short interview to assess English language proficiency. Both the written test and interview will be held on the same day with a short break (15-30 minutes) between them. An interview is mandatory for all applicants.

Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership and School Improvement (PGDEDU)

Program Overview

The Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership and School Improvement is a professional development program aimed at enhancing the capacities of education professionals in areas such as leadership and management, academic and research, pedagogy, school improvement, communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

The program includes:

• PGD: 10 courses/27 credits.
• MEd: 10 courses plus a 9-credit dissertation (total of 36 credits).

The program is delivered in a modular system and typically takes 16 months to complete the PGD, and 20 months to complete the MEd.

Class Schedule: All classes are held in the evenings at the BRACU main campus.

Postgraduate Diploma in Knitwear Industry Management (PGD-KIM)

Program Overview

The Government of Bangladesh is implementing the Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) to develop a workforce equipped with modern technical skills and knowledge. Under SEIP, the Executive Development Centre has been established at BIGD, BRAC University, offering a Post Graduate Diploma in Knitwear Industry Management (PGD-KIM). This program aims to train mid-level industry managers and young professionals for the knitwear industry.

Program Schedule

• Total program duration: 9 months
• Class schedule:
  • Friday (day-long)
  • Sunday (evening)
  • Wednesday (evening)
• Industry attachment: 3 months

Eligibility

For Professionals

• Active and talented mid and high-level managers with at least 3 years of work experience in the knitwear industry.

For Fresh Graduates

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in technical or business disciplines, with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 or a second class from a recognized public or private university.

Additional Requirements

Note: GED holders are not eligible for admission. Females are highly encouraged to apply.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a written test. Final selection will be based on the written test score, previous work experience, and a viva-voce interview.
