The PASS Program assists students struggling in their academic endeavors to get back on track. Individual advising sessions are organized with such students in order to identify why they are not performing well and to provide appropriate guidance. These sessions are arranged twice, once before the mid-term examination to provide instructions on how to prepare well for the exams and once after the midterm examinations to track their progress. In addition, extra academic support is provided for courses such as MAT110 and PHY111 which is mandatory for students who struggle with the subjects.
Tutorial Class
Office of Academic Advising (OAA) currently offers tutorials for specific 100 level courses, namely MAT110 and PHY111, which are taken by faculty members. The tutorials are open for all students but are mandatory for students who lack understanding of such subjects. Tutorials for other courses are also arranged based on students’ needs. The tutorials are undertaken in coordination with the students’ regular classes so that the students can avail timely help before their quizzes, midterm and finals. Apart from tutorials, the faculty members provide more than 12 hours of consultation per week so that students facing any problem or seeking any advice can visit them personally.
workshops
Various workshops on topics such as time management and study methods are conducted by OAA which enable students to plan their study hours in the most efficient way possible. This leads to maximum utilization of time and enables the students to maintain a balance in life.
Orientation for Parents
As a part of the Freshman Orientation Program, OAA arranges interactive sessions for parents and guardians of the freshers. During the session, the parents are briefed about the various services offered by BRAC University. Frequent interactions with parents ensure that they are updated about their children’s progress in BRAC University.
