Four new faculty members, Dr. Hasina Yasmin, Dr. Md. Mesbah Uddin Talukder, Ms. Nusrat Hossain and Mr. Arifur Rahman have joined the Department of Pharmacy, BRAC University in July, 2016.
Among them, Dr. Hasina Yasmin completed his B.Pharm (Hons.) and M.Pharm from Department of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka. She has done her Ph.D. and post-doctoral fellowship from Nagasaki University, Nagasaki, Japan with a major in Chemistry of Bio-functional Molecules. Before joining BRAC University, Dr. Hasina Yasmin was engaged with teaching as Associate Professor at State University of Bangladesh. Besides teaching, she had also worked as Production Pharmacist and Product Development Pharmacist at Eskayef (SK+F) Bangladesh Limited and Aristopharma Bangladesh Limited respectively.
Dr. Md. Mesbah Uddin Talukder completed his B.Pharm (Hons.) and M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Technology both from the University of Dhaka. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. His research interests include oncology immunotherapies, cancer therapeutics and vaccine immunotherapy. In his academic career, Dr. Md. Mesbah Uddin Talukder served as Lecturer and Assistant Professor at University of Asia Pacific from 2006 to 2011. Beside his teaching career, he has also worked as a Visiting Scientist at University College London, Research editor at ‘The Pharma World’; and News Presenter at ‘My TV’.
Ms. Nusrat Hossain did her B.Pharm (Hons.) from North South University and M.Pharm from UCSI University, Malaysia. She had also worked at the Medical and Regulatory Affairs Department at Sanofi Bangladesh Limited, Bangladesh.
Mr. Arifur Rahman completed his B.Pharm (Hons.) and M. Pharm from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Dhaka. Before joining BRAC University, he also worked as Executive in the Product Management Department at Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and ACI Pharmaceuticals Ltd. He also worked as Associate Officer for Manufacturing Science & Technology at Novertis (Bangladesh) Ltd. In his student life he was awarded Government Merit Scholarship at the Graduate levels (Dhaka board; Merit position: 42nd) and NSICT Fellowship and Research Grant by the Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology, Bangladesh Government, 2014-15.
