Two new faculty members, Md. Tanvir Kabir and Fabliha Ahmed Chowdhury have joined the Department of Pharmacy, BRAC University.
Md. Tanvir Kabir obtained his Master of Science (MSc) in Pharmacology from the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. During his graduate work in the University of Hertfordshire, he has worked with transient receptor potential cation channel, subfamily V, member 1 (TRPV1) and transient receptor potential cation channel, subfamily A, member 1
and demonstrated their effects on non-adrenergic non-cholinergic (NANC) contractions mediated by electric field stimulation (EFS). He received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, United Kingdom, where he investigated consumer-driven healthcare marketing strategies concentrating principally on over-the-counter (OTC) medicines. He completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from East West University, Bangladesh.
Fabliha Ahmed Chowdhury completed her B.Pharm (Hons.) and M. Pharm from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Dhaka. During her M.Pharm, she worked on Pharmacogenetics and the title of her work was ‘The association of statin induced adverse effects with the polymorphism in TNF α and COQ2 genes in hyperlipidemic patients.’ Before joining BRAC University, she worked as an Executive in the International Marketing Department at Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited.
