A seminar titled “Public Health” was held on February 14, 2015 at the BRAC University Savar Campus. The program was designed to familiarize the students with the benefits of maintaining a sound physical and reproductive health. Mr. Rehan Ahmed, Assistant Campus Superintendent inaugurated the programme that was divided into two sessions. The first of the session, attended by all the students, was conducted by Ms. Sadia Chowdhury, Senior Research Fellow, JPG School of Public Health, who talked about a few commonly known, important factors such as basic hygiene, bad affects of junk food, smoking and drug abuse and other issues related to physical health and wellbeing.
The second session focused on the reproductive health and wellbeing and was conducted in two separate groups, one with the female students and the other with the male students. This session was conducted by Professor Sabina Faiz Rashid, Dean, JPG School of Public Health. While one group attended the session, the other group watched a documentary on health. The programme concluded with a question-answer session.
