Professor Dr. Rahim B. Talukdar, Adviser, BRAC Business School paid a visit to Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on 20 July,2016. Gustavson School of Business is one of the leading Business Schools in Canada for its academic programs with very distinctive characters particularly in the graduate programs. The School offers an undergraduate program, a regular MBA program, a Master of Global Business program, a Customized MBA program and a Ph.D program. In addition, there is Professional Development program, Aboriginal Management program and International Training program. The vision of the School is to develop ‘responsible leadership’ with education creating sustainable value based on four pillars—international, integrative, innovative and socially responsible.
Professor Talukdar had meetings with Dean Saul Klein and Associate Director, MBA program Mr. Ivan Robertson. He elaborated on the different academic programs and activities of the BRAC Business School. Dean Klein was highly impressed with the performance of the BRAC students in the HULT competition and wished them success in the final. Prof. Talukdar discussed at length about the Customized MBA program at Gustavson in order to assess the pros and cons of starting new majors in the MBA program at BRAC Business School focusing on the RMG and Pharmaceutical Sectors. The Customized MBA program is relatively new at Gustavson with a contract with the Canadian national telecommunication company to train two cohorts of executives from the company over a four-year period after which an evaluation will be made whether to pursue the program with modifications. BRAC Business School can learn from their experience in developing its new focus in the MBA program.
Professor Talukdar also discussed about developing academic collaboration between Gustavson Business School and BRAC Business School in near future.
