Brac University’s (BU) ‘Regulation of International Supply Chains’ (RISC) project, in collaboration with Brac Business School (BBS), arranged a session titled ‘Grant Writing & Paper Development Workshop for Research Projects’ for the faculty members of Brac Business School on 19 February, 2020 at the BBS Conference Room. The workshop was facilitated by Professor Jeremy Warwick Moon, Director, CBS Centre for Sustainability, Copenhagen Business School (Denmark). The RISC project is funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and administered by the Danida Fellowship Centre.
Professor Jette Steen Knudsen, Tufts University (USA), Assistant Professor Erin Leitheiser, Copenhagen Business School, Professor Sang H Lee, Dean, BBS, Professor Shahidur Rahman, Department of Economics & Social Sciences, BU, and Assistant Professor Saif Hossain, BBS, were also present among the participating faculty members.
The workshop focused on the methods of writing grant applications, developing academic papers, and identifying research networks and infrastructure. Professor Moon conducted interactive discussions throughout the session, discussing perspectives of the reviewers, significance of research and various suggestions for successful application submissions. The event was followed by a discussion on the importance of case research and publications as the essence of university development and wider recognition. Professor Lee expressed his willingness for future collaboration on research projects with the visiting professors. The workshop was coordinated by Professor Shahidur Rahman, ESS, and Assistant Professor Saif Hossain, BBS, with the support of Gulfam Tasnim, Shuvro Sen, and Syeda Nusaiba Hossain (RISC Project Research Associates).
