A Scholarship Agreement Signing Ceremony was held between Brac University (BU) and Suhana & Anis Ahmed Foundation (SAAF) at Brac University on December 17, 2020. BU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Vincent Chang and Senior Program Manager from Suhana & Anis Ahmed Foundation, Ms. Bashira Harun signed the agreement.
“Brac University has replaced the previous vision and mission, which is also known as ‘BU 2.0’. It includes new visions; proud, global institution of Bangladesh and Bangladesh’s Flagship University. Student experience is one of the core mandates in this journey. Brac University is aiming to maintain global standard in this regard”, Said Professor Chang.
SAAF is a leading philanthropic organization, which manages multiple schools, palliative care units, building self-sustaining revenue sources for charitable initiatives. It will sponsor scholarships to underprivileged meritorious students who are unable to pay their tuition fees for studying at Brac University.
The scholarship will be named “Suhana & Anis Ahmed Foundation Scholarship” and will cover the 100% tuition fees including non-credit courses (if any up to 2 courses). It will also cover other fees (i.e. admission fees, semester fees, Residential Semester fees, etc.) which are required to complete the degree of a successful candidate which is payable to BU other than the cost of retakes.
SAAF will award scholarships to a maximum number of 6 students for their entire course duration (4 to 5 years) provided they meet all the requirements of both BU’s scholarship policy and the terms of this agreement. All together will be awarded among candidates nominated by BU and subject to endorsement by SAAF. 3 of these Scholarships will be dedicated only to the students of Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and the remaining 3 Scholarships may be awarded to the students of any other department.
