A study conducted by BU-IED was launched on March 06, 2007 at BRAC Center Auditorium. Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury, VC, BRCAU presided. The study titled "Access to Education in Bangladesh: A country Analytic Review of Primary and Secondary Education" was the first output in Bangladesh of the Consortium for Research on Educational Access, Transitions and Equity (CREATE). It is a five year, multi-country research project supported by DFID. BU-IED is the Bangladesh member of the consortium - one of eight institutions from Bangladesh, India, Ghana, South Africa and U.K. Highlights of the report were presented by Dr. Mnazoor Ahmed, coordinator of the research team. Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud, former member of the Advisory Council; Ms Rasheda K. Chowdhury, Executive Director of CAMPE; and Ms Elizabeth Carriere, Acting Head of DFID Bangladesh were the principal discussants.
