Students and teachers of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of BRAC University went on a two-day visit to Rangamati town recently which was organized by the BRAC University Electrical and Electronic Club.
Under a travel agency’s arrangements, a group of 72 people and lecturers Mohaimenul Islam and Tasfin Ahmed reached the town on September 14 travelling overnight by bus. On having breakfast at Hotel Nadisha International at Reserve Bazar, they boarded boats on Kaptai Lake to check-in at island hotel The Grand Hill Taj and then visit Shuvolong Waterfall and bathe in a smaller one called “Choto Jhorna”. The group had lunch including bamboo chicken and mashed Indian river shad, locally called chapila fish, at a restaurant managed by indigenous people before retiring for the night at the Taj singing songs and having barbeque chicken.
The next day they visited Bangladesh Army-managed Aranyak Resort, Hanging Bridge and the Polwel Park and Cottage, got to know more about indigenous people at Chakma Rajbari, tried out kayaks, paddle boats and speedboats and had lunch at island restaurant “Peda Ting Ting” alongside bananas and sugarcane throughout the day. The group freshened up and had dinner at the Nadesha hotel before leaving for for Dhaka that very night.
