A day-long seminar around The Justice Project, organized jointly by The Anthropology Collective at BRAC University, Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST), the Delhi-based trust Aakar, and IDRC, was held at BRAC Centre INN on Sunday, 9th of August. The seminar started at 9 am in the morning and ended at 5 pm in the afternoon. This event is part of a traveling seminar series emerging from a research project coordinated by Aakar, a Delhi-based trust, aimed at building dialogue across the five project countries of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The 14 research papers and 5 films commissioned through the project bring to the fore the most pressing concerns on justice in and across different sites in South Asia. These papers map a range of ideas, practices and contestations around justice as they take shape in the respective countries. The day-long seminar presented selected papers for discussion.
