A discussion session for the National Mourning Day was arranged at BRACU in the morning of 15 August, 2015 in Room UB10503. Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, Vice-chancellor, BRACU, Professor Mahbub Hossain, Chair, ESS Department, Professor A.A.Z. Ahmad, Chair, MNS Department, and some faculty members and administrative personnel were present at the discussion session. Professor Ahmad started the discussion by giving his harrowing experience when he heard the terrible news. He was then doing his post-doctoral research in the U.K. He said that he believed that a deep conspiracy resulted in the gruesome assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation and a large number of his family members. Professor Mahboob Hossain and Professor Syed Saad Anadaleeb also spoke of their experience and thoughts and said how the people who did not believe in the creation and existence of Bangladesh wanted the country to be erased from the map of the world. A lively question and answer session followed.
