Dr. Md. Mamun Habib, Associate Professor of BRAC Business School (BBS) and Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Supply Chain Management (IJSCM) – Scopus Indexed, participated in Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) Full Accreditation Visit for Ph.D. Programme of Faculty of Business & Management, AIMST University, Kedah, Malaysia on 19-20 July 2018.
The 1st Ph.D scholar of Faculty of Business & Management, AIMST University was Dr. Basu Govindaraju, under the supervision of Dr. Md. Mamun Habib and Dr John Jeyasingam. The title of Ph.D. dissertation was “An Integrated Tertiary Education Supply Chain Management Model to Achieve Sustainability in Malaysian Private Universities”. Dr. Basu in his dissertation illustrated that in spite of the extensive research on Supply Chain Management (SCM), the education supply chain management concepts still remain under-utilized. Research on higher education sustainability appears to be at infancy and yet to be explore further. The aim of his Ph.D. dissertation was to verify and fill the gap with regard to the unique nature of education industry and the applicability of supply chain management concept to the sustainability of Private University (PU) in Malaysia. In fact, Dr. Basu extended Dr. Habib’s ITESCM model and connected the sustainable concept upon the ITESCM model.
In the MQA’s full accreditation meeting, Dr. Habib was invited by Dr. Sham Abdulrazak, Dean, Faculty of Business and Management, AIMST University. Prof. Dr. Harcharan Singh Sidhu, honorable Vice-chancellor of AIMST University and representatives from MQA, faculty members were also present in the grand Programme. Dr. Habib also talk about 2nd International Conference on Business and Management (ICBM 2019) of BRAC Business School (BBS) which will be held on 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
