As part of Ethics and Culture course, a drama named ‘Court Martial’ was staged by the theater group ‘Theater Art Unit’ on 15 July, 2016, at Markuli Hall, Savar Campus. The program began with an introductory speech by Rudmila Mahbub, faculty member of Ethics and Culture course.
The objective of the drama was to make the students realize the idea of class distinction and how it still exists in different forms in the society. Their performance has highlighted the fact that truth is not always what we see and what we listen to; it can be more than that. The drama further portrayed that giving punishment on the basis of law is not necessarily ethical all the time. It came to an end with the implied message that we should think twice before judging any incident. In other words, we should seek for the truth.
After the end of the drama, Rehan Ahmed, Campus Superintendent, shared a few words with the students on the message of the drama and the importance of ethics in our daily life. Some students also shared their reflections on the drama. All management staff played a significant role as well to make the program successful.
