FYAT (First Year Advising Team) of BRAC University has welcomed the newly enrolled students of Fall 2018 semester at university’s auditorium on September 13, 2018. The program was organized by Office of Academic Advising (OAA) of BRACU.
Chief guest Registrar Lt Col Md Foyzul Islam (retd) gave an overview of the campus and administration, saying BRACU focused on liberal arts education to build “complete” human beings. He said that because of emphasizing on innovative learning approach BRACU has emerged as one of the best educational institutes of the country. Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed, founder and director of the BRAC Institute of Languages was also present in the occasion as special guest.
Dilara Afroz Khan, associate professor and director of the Office of Co-Curricular Activities, Office of Academic Advising and Office of Career Services & Alumni Relations presided over the program while Monojit Kumar Ojha, director, Finance and Accounts, Ismat Shereen, head of Relationship Management Office, Hasina Afroz, librarian, Ayesha Abed Library, Shadia Alam, deputy director, Human Resource Department and Dr. Selina Akter, senior medical consultant of Medical Centre gave their speech.
The FYAT Program is a component of the student-centered approach to help newly enrolled students and to ensure their academic success at BRAC University. The FYAT team would be responsible for intensive nurturing and nourishing the newly enrolled first year students for their 1 year besides the regular course advising system.
