The Office of Co-curricular Activities (OCA) of BRAC University organized a two-day “The Leadership Bootcamp 2023” at BCDM, Savar recently to provide training to BRAC University’s student club leaders and advisers. A total number of 84 leaders of 32 student-centric clubs, societies and forums alongside their 12 advisers took part in the event.
The first day comprised sessions on team bonding, leadership trait activities and managing club activities as per organizational processes and guidelines. Addressing as the special guest, BRAC University Registrar Dr. Dave Dowland highlighted the importance of co-curricular engagement of students. Later, the students engaged in sports and cultural activities at the neighboring residential campus of BRAC University.
On the second day, the counseling unit held a session on empathetic leadership, the psychological foundation of personality and self-care. Afterwards, the proctor’s office shed light on building a positive and inclusive community and atmosphere in the university. In the end, there were group presentations with the students working in small groups on specific issues related to their club experiences and presenting solutions to the problems through role-play and simulation.
