Hasibul Hasan Ahmed, a student of the Department of Computer Science Engineering at BRAC University, has been selected as a Global Engagement Fellow for Open Society University Network (OSUN) this year.
The OSUN was announced and inaugurated in 2020 by George Soros, the founder of Open Society Foundation. The OSUN’s key mission is to establish collaborations between universities, institutes and think tanks around the world towards teaching, research and other forms of exchanges between faculty members, students and university administrators. BRAC University is the only university in South Asia chosen to join the OSUN.
“As a Fellow, I will be representing our institution and will work towards providing support to students who want to develop civic engagement projects and explore opportunities offered by OSUN,” said Ahmed.
“In my role as a Fellow, I will be holding office hours for students to discuss their ideas, providing guidance and support to help bring their projects to fruition. I believe that this program aligns with the core values of our university and will provide students with valuable opportunities to make a positive impact in their communities,” he added.
“…I look forward to meeting with and supporting students in their efforts to create positive change,” said Ahmed, also co-founder, Partnership & Strategic Development Manager, Social Impact Lab, and Millennium Fellow, United Nations Academic Impact and Millennium Campus Network, Inc.
