In April 2017, final exam of Spring 2017 semester was taking place. Probation students both first timer and last chance were advised to strengthen their last-minute preparation and perform better in their upcoming final exam.
After publication of results, probation advisers from OSA collected and analyzed the results of probation students of Spring 2017 semester. From analysis it has been found that after attending PASS program (i.e. individual advising, group advising, tutorial sessions and workshops) 56.67% last chance probation students successfully overcame academic probation. Moreover, in case of the first time probation 60.31% students survived from being into academic probation for two consecutive semesters.
Probation students from Spring 2017 semester were sent to the PASS team for necessary assistance in order to unblock their student id for Summer 2017 semester. Total 108 students’ came to the Office of Student Affairs and registered in the PASS program for Summer 2017. Furthermore, OSA also completed the final assessment of 14 probation students who were allowed to take participation in the tutorial classes only offered by OSA for Spring 2017 semester. It is mentionable that these students were not advised with any regular courses in Spring 2017 semester and based upon successful attendance and performance in the tutorial classes they were supposed to be considered for further chance to continue at BRAC University. After final assessment, 8 students out of 14 were recommended by the faculty members of OSA for consideration in Summer 2017 semester.
