BRAC University Chess Club (BUCHC) organized a workshop titled ‘Basic Chess Principles’ at BRACU Auditorium on Monday, 16 February 2015. It was organized to inspire students to utilize chess as a tool to develop their cognitive abilities and analytical skills. It was conducted by South Asian’s first grandmaster Niaz Murshed and Women grandmaster Toma Katarzyna from Poland. Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed, Director, BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL) was present as the chair of the workshop. Among others, Shams Ud Duha, Advisor, BRAC University Chess Club and Md. Shamsul Kaonine and Co-advisor of BRAC University Chess Club were present. The media partners of the workshop were NTV and Radio Aamar.
