Friendship never melts away, it is a special hug from God and friends are the chocolate chips in the cookie of life. The conventional wisdom is that we choose friends because of who they are. But it turns out that we actually love them because of the way they support who we are. But often we may feel like we cannot make friends, our friends do not listen to us, and we find it difficult to maintain a healthy friendship and many more.
Therefore, to assist students to know more about how the friendship can be maintained in a healthy way, the Counseling Unit of BRAC University organized a workshop on Sowing the Seeds of Friendship on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 02:30pm-04:00pm in BRACU Auditorium (UB-01).
Ms. Monzia Mushtaq and Mr. Md. Rakibul Hasan-Psychosocial Counselors and Lecturers of BRAC University conducted the session. Through this workshop, the participants learned the meaning of friendship, what are the barriers of maintaining healthy friendship, ways to make friends and tips to maintain healthy friendships. The session was made participatory by using various activities such as individual, group activities, imagination, and think-pair-share activity.
