Mark Bartholomew, a Consultant at the Writing Centre and PDC (Professional Development Centre), conducted two workshops for students. The workshops titled “Read to Learn to Write” and “Creative Writing and Extensive Reading” were held on 21 March 2016 and 28 March 2016, respectively. In the first workshop, Mr. Bartholomew discussed the importance of reading in developing one’s writing skills and shared research and statistics. In the second workshop, he discussed and analyzed some poems and a short story to demonstrate the writing skills exercised in the chosen pieces. He also talked about the art of inference from reading. The participants shared their thoughts and took part in the discussion enthusiastically.
