As a partial requirement of the course ‘Industrial Relations’, BRAC Business School organized an industrial visit at Akij Ceramics Ltd. on Friday, May 27, 2016. The objective of the industrial visit was to provide students an insight regarding contemporary industrial relations management issues and also the implications of Bangladesh labour law 2006 practiced at industrial level. The industrial tour was led by Ms. Humaira Naznin, Senior lecturer of BRAC Business School.
Students were warmly received by Mr. GolamMowla,senior HR executive of Akij Ceramics Ltd., who also conducted an interactive session with students on HR practice at Akij Ceramics Ltd. Later on, students were privileged to meet Mr. Abhijit Bhattacharya, General Manager Technical at Akij Ceramics Ltd. After the session students were taken to observe theentire production plant of ceramics. Experts of Akijceramics thoroughly explained how ceramic tiles were made from aluminum clay mixtures, shaped and perfected with exquisite designs. Indeed, students experienced a great opportunity to explore one of the largest ceramics factories in the country and also toacquire practical learning on important aspects of industrial relations and labour management.
