The BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL) organised a training for teachers titled “Caregiving Training of Cantonese Teachers” at the listening lab of BRAC University’s Mohakhali campus from November 4-6.
Twenty eight teachers from 16 districts were nominated for the training by the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training of the Ministry of Social Welfare.
Asif Munier from International Labour Organization along with professionals from different organisations were present at the inauguration ceremony.
The training was designed in a way so that the participants can gather experience on how to handle Cantonese language in different contexts and get motivated. The participants gained practical knowledge on the existing teaching methodologies incorporating effective teaching-learning materials.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed, director of BIL, said globalisation offered numerous opportunities and availing such training led to multitudes of career options.
