Postgraduate Programs in Disaster Management (PPDM) in partnership with Community Development for Peace (CDP), response to emergency crisis on COVID-19 epidemic situation. Muhammad Ferdaus, Coordinator PPDM has organized a food and sanitizing goods distribution program among rickshaw puller and daily worker at Korail, Mohakhali and Banani area which was forwarded by an awareness program on the Coronavirus safety issue. Korail, is one of the largest slums in Bangladesh, is located just opposite the BRAC Head Office in Dhaka. Most of the people who live in Korail, have moved to the city from some of the poorest parts of Bangladesh. The majority of corals inhabitants are living below the poverty line and working in extremely low-income jobs. Moreover, they are living conditions in that informal settlement is poor. As a Dhaka city is completely lockdown due to COVID-19 and people are in home quarantine for a long while. Daily labor and rickshaw puller in food crisis and health unconscious. Therefore, in this slum area, we give them food assistance and hygienic kit for their emergency uses.
