The Department of Architecture, Brac University, is pleased to welcome on board a newly appointed lecturer and several teaching assistants.
Emmat Ara Khanam Ema
Emmat is a newly appointed full-time Lecturer at the Department of Architecture, BRAC University from Fall 2021. After completing her B. Arch. with the highest CGPA from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), she started her career at a reputed architectural firm in Dhaka. In addition to teaching and practicing architecture, currently, she is pursuing M. Arch. at BUET. She has active participation in various voluntary works and team management. Her research interests include housing, built environment, and sustainability.
Ramisa Yeameen Chowdhury Eva
Eva completed her O & A levels from Chattogram. Following that, she earned her B. Arch. degree from Brac University, and received the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal. During her undergraduate, she went to Manchester, U.K. for her internship. Subsequently, after graduation, she was appointed as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Architecture, Brac University in January 2020, where she worked until June 2021. Currently, she’s studying for Master of Architecture and working as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto, Canada. She loves architecture for its potential to blend different disciplines and ideas into a cohesive design by evoking emotion in users. She’s also passionate about the preservation and rehabilitation of historical buildings.
Khan Ishaan Mustapha
Khan Ishaan Mustapha completed his O/A Levels from Seabreeze International School, Dhaka, enrolling in American International University-Bangladesh in 2015. After completing his B. Arch degree in September 2020, he joined BRAC University's Department of Architecture in October 2020 as a Teaching Assistant, where he was involved in both academic prospects and research projects for a year.
Md. Ehsan Alam
Ehsan completed his O/A Levels from Scholastica, Dhaka before enrolling in BRAC University in 2015. He completed his B. Arch. degree in January 2021 and has been at the Department of Architecture, BRAC University since February 2021 as a Teaching Assistant. Alongside academia, Ehsan remains involved in both practice and research, exploring informality as well as environmental design across both.
Shahriar Ahmed Shad
Shahriar received his B. Arch. from the Department of Architecture, BRAC University in 2020. His higher secondary studies are from Rajuk Uttara Model College. He also practices Architecture and Graphics Design professionally. He has a keen interest in Urban Design, History, Building Conservation, Geo-politics, and International Affairs. Shahriar likes to travel and is involved deeply in Architectural Photography. He has been appointed as a Teaching Assistant for the department since June 2021.
Tarannum Mahmud
Tarannum Mahmud is a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Architecture, Brac University since October 2021. She completed her Higher Secondary education from Cantonment English School and College, Chattogram, and received her B.Arch. from BRAC University in 2021. She has worked as an Intern at the office of B V Doshi, Sangath-Vastu Shilpa Consultants in Ahmedabad, India in 2019. She often travels to new places, be it for a weekend getaway, for work, or for any adventurous trekking. She chooses to capture memories in pen and ink over capturing them in photographs.
